True confession: I am NOT one of those moms who mourn the end of summer vacation. I am definitely in the "Thank goodness school is back!" camp. I love my children, I treasure them, I enjoy the time we spend together, the first month or so of summer is super fun - but by the end of summer I am ready for a routine. I am ready for my kids not to be complaining about how bored they are or sitting around and doing nothing but playing minecraft and me feeling super guilty about that. Oh, or fighting with each other every other minute or so.
This summer was particularly difficult. I don't think I really have to explain why, hahaha. I'm really hoping it's our worst summer ever.
My sister-in-law's friend Ashleigh was incredibly generous and did a back to school photoshoot fundraiser for me. I cannot put into words how touched I was by this completely selfless act. Ashleigh moved just days before the scheduled photoshoots, and a few days after she was leaving for vacation. I'm sure there were A TON of other things that could have occupied her time and she did this incredibly thoughtful thing for a person she had met one time.
If you have ever wondered, please know - there are some wonderfully wonderful people in this world.
Anyway, here are my very favorites from our photoshoot.
The big kids that are headed back to school.
The preschooler
Kindergarten. I can't believe it. Love my little ray of sunshine.
The 4th graders. (What?! 4th grade! How on earth did that happen?)
Gosh, I love these kids.

Gosh, I love those kids too ! After hanging out for a bit a few weeks ago, when we brought dinner, Douglas said he missed Katie and Ethan. He said he remembers playing with them and that they were some of his favorite friends. We adore those kiddo's for sure ! And you're not alone my favorite friend . . I don't even make it a month into summer break before I am pulling my hair out. I bask in the joy of back to school week ! ! So I hear ya on that one. Such cute pictures of your little's. You are so very lucky to have them. They are amazing. But I supposed they learned all their amazingness from their parents. That's pretty obvious though ; )
