why I started a blog

Ok so in high school, I straight up had teachers tell me that I was an awful writer. And I couldn't agree more. I don't have a way with words, and most of my descriptions include things like "awesome, fun, wonderful " - I just am not all that creative in the writing department.

But as this all started to unfold, I realized that there was just too many people that wanted me to 'keep them in the loop.' The explanations were too long, and the emotions were too high. I needed one place where I could tell people to go to get the latest information.

We have a family blog but it is private and I haven't posted there for at least 8 months. I work from home 20-30 hours a week doing eyelash extensions and I just didn't have the time to keep up that blog like I used to. Also, I would like the cancer journal to be separate. I want to document what we do as a family separate from this awfulness.

My main purpose was to document this for my children. They are all so young and will hopefully not remember most of this, thank goodness. But when they are older, they will probably wonder about all this and how it unfolded. So I'm trying to write it all out for them.

I didn't expect this to happen - for my blog to get 1,000 hits a day and be read far and wide. My husband thinks it's because it has "butt" in the title and people are hoping for a good show. Sorry to disappoint you dirty dogs but this is not that kind of showcase!

But since some of you might not know us, and are here because a family member or friend told you about my situation, I thought I would at least put up a picture of my beautiful family so you would know who you are praying for :)

We appreciate the prayers, love, support, positive thoughts. Miracles happen. I'm gonna be one of them.

  1. I like your awesome, fun, wonderful blog. But I agree with Matt : it needs some real butts. Besides, everyone knows we all like butts and we cannot lie. And everyone knows that no other brothah' can deny . . oh wait. I am getting off topic.
